Different kind of worship through the summer

We have tried a different approach to worship in the summer month of July.  We named it Potluck and Praise.  This is not only for members of the church but we are trying to reach out to the community, with the hope that someone that might be looking for a church to attend will join us outside on Sunday, 6pm.  We gather on the lawn either on a blanket or you bring a chair and hopefully a friend, and ask that everyone who comes bring something to share such as a side dish, fruit, or veggies or chips. We then have fellowship with one another. About 6:45 we start our worship where we sing some songs from The Faith We Sing Hymnals, followed by a worship from the Pastor, then end with a song.  We started on July 7th with an attendance of 12. We just had our second service on July 14, and or attendance just about doubled with 23 people.  As a member of this church myself and also the church office manager, I feel it is a great way to offer a service that is outside of the 4 walls of the church, at a more relaxed way to praise the Lord and fellowship with one another at the same time!
