Summer Fun

This past two weeks have been the grand finale for the summer months at West Vienna UMC.  On the 15th we had a fishing party for our Kid's Hope USA families along with our own Sunday School Kids at one of our member's pond.  There was lots of food, fun and prizes.   On the 24th we had another fishing party- open to the public -for our Super Saturday event right here at the church .  We supplied lots of lemonaide and Kool-pops to keep us cool and everyone got a snack.  There was a gift for all the kids who came.  Sunday morning we were blessed with 17 visitors (bringing our worship total to 107 as compared to an average of 82) and went to yet another pond for our All-Church picnic.  After the meal we had a special day planned at Covenant Hills for our youth. They got to jump on the "Blob", go on a nature hike, played Ga-Ga ball and swam until the adults were exhausted.  What a way to end the summer!  We had at least 35 people at each event and there were different faces at each. We are sure that our 12 hour prayer vigil during the week added to our blessings.  Slowly but surely we are seeing results from our VCI changes and it the breath of fresh air that we needed.  Thank you Lord!
