Mission Distribution

What was started by members of the Kidwell Sunday School Class at Christ UMC in Stockdale has turned into a whole church Mission cause. The Mission group distributes personal hygiene items such as laundry detergent, shampoo, toilet paper, dish detergent, toothpaste, and deodorant on the 3rd Tuesday of each month for the people in our community that need help at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church.  To better accommodate those that come they moved the distribution date to the 3rd Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., still in the fellowship hall.

They also are helping with food when they are able to raise the funds to have the San Antonio Mobile Food Pantry Truck come to the church's parking lot.  Josh Sackett is chairman of the Mission Committee.  In February of this year they sponsored the Mobile Food Pantry truck and did again on April 30th.  Then this was presented to the pastors of the Stockdale Ministerial Alliance and in November, another Mobile Food Pantry truck came to our church parking lot.  Funds for this truck were provided by the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce.  What started as a small Sunday School Class group, it has expanded to the whole community working together for a Greater Mission Cause.  The Food Bank issues vouchers that we distribute to our community, primarily Stockdale, Pandora, and Sutherland Springs, with the help of some of the other churches.  It really is a community project.
