As we are a mission church, dedicated to serving the incarcerated and their families, we do not pay apportionments. However, we had a very successful fundraising campaign this year, with numerous items donated for the silent auction not only from individuals, but also from several small businesses in our area, including a newly opened bookstore, a framing shop, and a bakery. We also had personal donations that came in for a couple of weeks after the event from not only out of town, but even out of state. The finaly tally for the amount raised was $10,186,99. We were very happy with this as this was the largest amount we have raised in several years. This has allowed us to purchase more for the hygiene kits that we have for the men at Lawton Community Correctional Center, as well as clothing for those men who are on work release and need appropriate clothing/shoes/boots for their jobs. We have also been able to assist several of our men as they have been released and wished to stay in the area because of the church and their jobs. This has been strengthened by a donation through Catholic Charities from a man who has been involved with us for many years.
