"Conversations" small group sparks new ministry

Instead of a "Bible Study" we are having a time of "Conversations".  I, as pastor, still prepare something to study, but for the past few weeks participants have asked questions and we have talked about people in nursing homes, some of which seem to have no one to ever visit them.

What came out of that conversation is the germ of a mission idea.  Some of the participants are going to check with nursing homes in the area.  If it is OK with then, we will ask for names of their patients who reallly do not have anyone visiting them, and then begin a ministry of visitation to those who seem to be pretty much alone in the world.
