This past summer, our middle and high school youth group completed two mission trips in different parts of the country. Five High School Youth along with three sponsors traveled to Bend, Oregon to serve at Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch - a Christ centered equine ministry that aims to mentor children of all ages and backgrounds. In the week that they were there, they constructed a sheep shelter in a field that was recently donated to them, designed and completed a sign to name it, painted various signs around the ranch, moved boulders to create a new amphitheatre, pulled weeds in an older arena that had plans to be reopened, and completed many more projects throughout the week. They served selflessly and truly showed Christ through their actions.
A month later, 15 middle school youth and 4 sponsors traveled to Denver, Colorado to serve at a ministry called Denver Urban Matters. Their primary mission is to help the homeless people in the region through many different outlets and ministries. Throughout the week, our youth served at four different locations - a thrift store, a food bank, a homeless shelter, and a nursing home. They served through many different capacities and were excited to jump into their new and different roles among the 4 locations. I am extremely proud of all of our youth for truly showing Christ through their actions, as this was their first mission trip for the majority of these kids who attended.
