Recently, the local "Angel Tree Ministries"  (a ministry that provides giftsd to children of incarcerated parents within our surrounding area-we have 2 prisons within a 50 mile radius) expericed a crushiung blow when a church that had accepted 140 of the names to pric=vide for reutrned them unfulfilled due to the unexpectded death of their pastor. These children would have gone without. I approached the church asking for their help. It began with myself purchasing one $20 gift card (the ministry asked that as the late date this would be the only way to fulfill this ministry activity this year) and challenged the church (made up mainly of elderly people ion fixed incomes) to assist. They respoonse expectded was to be five to ten gift cards to help fill this out. Instead the congregation provided 30-$20 gift cards to be sent to chilodren so they could purchase a gift. As pastor of this vital congregation this has truly been a God moment in the midst of this years struggles and challenges. I know God smiles upon them and blesses them beyond all expectations.
