Human Traficking Seminar

Members of Hiram First UMC invited members of the community to attend a semiinar conducted by the Georgia Burea of Inivestigation and the Paulding County Sheriffs Department on Human Trafficking.  The seminar focused on CSEC (Criminal Sexual Exploitaton of Childre.  Awareness was raised about this problem and other related issues such as slave trafficing.  Our Atlanta area s one of the most prlolific centers for these crimes, primarily because of our airport.  Many young children (pre-teens and teens) as well as adult hispanics, asians and others, are on the streets in our communites and even sometimes knock  on the doors of our churches.  Over 30 folks attended the seminar and left with informaton on waht to look for and how we might offer assistance to folks trapped in this horrible "industry."
