Hosting the 4K Bikers

Tonight, June 27, 2012, the Frankln NE United Methodist Church hosted the 4K bikers.  This year the group we hosted included 27 young bikers sponsored by Johns Hopkins University who are biking 4800 miles across the United States.  The bikers shared in fellowship and a potluck meal.  Each biker tells stories of their rationale for making the trip.  They are truly an inspiring group of young people.  This annual hosting event does so much to unite our church--and humble each of us.  This year the bikers were especially inspiring as they had completed a  98 mile stretch with temperatures well over 110.  They also make us feel good--as they tell us they've heard stories from previous bikers about the wonderful and plentiful food and hospitality extended at our church.
