Joint Effort Coolong Center

The Baltimore-Washington region has been experiencing extreme heat for the past week. The storm took out many power lines making it difficult for our neighbors to cope with the heat safely. Delmont UMC and Severn UMC (two point charge) joined forces to host a cooling center at Severn UMC. We offered board games, crafts, water and freeze pops along with comforting conversation, prayer and a cool place to hang out. We did not have many guests at our center, but I saw God at work in this event because these two churches had been a two point charge for less than a week and they came together swiftly and effectively.
