Funerals, weddings, and baptism

Hopewell UMC is a wonderful small rural church located in Pine Mountain, Georgia.  I believe we are the furthest south in the LaGrange District.  Between the end of May and through the month of June we had three funerals (1 a week), then a wedding, and the last week in June I had the privledge of performing a baptism.  One of the wonderful ways that I saw God working in this church is during the 3 weeks of the funerals.  These were all members from the same "large" family 2 were elderly, one was in his late 40's early 50's.  When the news came each time, the call went out, the this church pulled together each time to support the family and friends that gathered to celebrate the life of each one.  There was lots of love, compassion, and hugs to go around and there was always a wonderful reception held in the social hall pulled together in a matter of hours or days.

The members of this little church truly showed the love of Christ in all the beind the scenes efforts that went on during this time, and I am thankful to be part of this church and I am blessed every Sunday that I come and worship and fellowship with my congregation.
