Spring of Living Water: Sudan Sunday

On the evening of Sunday, July 20, we had a joint worship gathering of the morning, English-speaking, worship community at Green Meadow United Methodist Church in Alcoa and the Sudanese, Arabic language, worship community we call Spring of Living Water. We celebrated Holy Community, baptized two children, and their parents formally uniting with Green Meadow. Also attending were Rev. Fred and Libby Dearing (Holston Conference missionaries to Sudan), Mandela Wani of South Sudan, Holston Conference Bishop Mary Virginia Taylor, and the Rev. Rusty Taylor (Holston Conference director of congregational development and revitalization). It was an extraordinary night of worship as we sang songs in Arabic and English.
