Responding to needs

Last week the church was contacted by a woman in our community who was desperately needing a ride to Springfield, Mo for medical tests.  She had contacted all other churches to no avail.  We sent out an email to our congregations apprising them of this need.  A couple in the church responded and contacted the woman providing her the transportation she needed.  This couple truly shared the love of Christ through their generosity to this stranger.

During prayer concerns, a concern was expressed regarding a family member not having air conditioning in the midst of our heat.  At the end of our service, another member spontaneously came forward laying an offering on the rail and challenging the congregation to give the price of Sunday lunch to provide an air conditioner.  As people exited the sanctuary, they filed by the rail offering their contribution.  What a testimony to the stirring and response of the Spirit moving among the people!
