Faith Stories

Two members shared Faith Stories today. One passed out blank cards and had each of us write our name on our card. She shared her story of going back to church a number of years ago after a terrible period of time in her life and having been urged by God to go back to church. At that service a man passed out cards, shared his story and asked people to give their card to someone they did not know well and take that person's card. The instruction was to pray for that person all week. The prayer support she felt that week brought her back to a life in Christ! After hearing her story, we also exchanged our cards and have been praying for each other. Prayers are working!!

The other story told was an experience the day before of participating in a prayer walk in a crime-laden section of our city with police officers, prayer warriors from local churches as well as school and community officials. They were received with open arms all around and through apartment complexes and shopping areas. Following the walk, they all met in a local park which is so dangerous it is never used by families but on that day children were playing and everyone shared in a BBQ! This opportunity was deemed to be such a success that other prayer walks around our community, also initiated by our police department, are in planning stages!

God was truly present in our congregation!
