Fish Fry

ST LUKE COLUMBIA - Southeastern - Tennessee - Harpeth River (TN)

The congregation at St. Luke hosted a Fish Fry to raise funds for our apportionments.  The project was divided into two days with Friday dedicated to serving businesses plates of catfish and all the trimmings delivered just in time for lunch.  Each plate lunch included a little bag of sweet treats with our church name, address and phone number on it.  We served over 400 meals to local businesses by delivery.

Saturday, we hosted the community in our church Fellowship Hall.  Being an election year, we had politicians join us with their entourage.  We served over 300 meals to the community and our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Each plate was sold for $10/$5 for children under 12.

It was more than a fundraiser.  The project chair was an expert in logistics.  I've never seen people work together so smoothly and lovingly.  Joy in working together as the body of Christ was evident throughout the entire project.  We came close to running out of fish, but like the feeding of the 5,000, we prayed for God to bless our efforts.  At the end of the project, we had served everyone that paid, fed our workers, AND had enough to spare to send to a drug rehabilitation center.  God is good, all the time!

To God be the Glory!
