No Sale (FREE) Garage Sale

Pierceton UMC - North Central - Indiana - North (IN)

Our Church has had a free garage sale for few years.  This one topped anything we have ever imagined.  It began with the manager of rental storeage units giving us the contents of a 8 x 12 storeage unit filled with clothes!  We washed over 120 loads of clothes!  There we other items in the unit.  We have sold some items for cash giving the money to the local food pantry.  There were six bags of stuffed animals we washed and are giving to a near by Methodist Home for children. Some things were given to Goodwill.  The bulk of the items (clothes) were laid out in the fellowship hall to be given away.   We began to pray for workers and people in need.  We sent flyers to all the local agencies we could think of having people in need.  We advertised in the paper as well as sending out invitations by the new direct mail from the post office.  Our 20 long dining tablles were stacked 2.5 to almost 3 feet in most cases with clothes.  In the 4 hours we were open, they  filled plastic bag upon plastic bag.  We had been concerned about what would be left.  Over 3/4 was gone!  We became aware of another nearby church opening a Clothes Closet with free itmes for families in need.  They are taking what we had left.  God provided in every way for the need begining with the managers gift of the storeage unit items.  The Spirit was felt moving among us at the sale.  GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!
