Lithonia First Reaches Out to Community With Its Angel Tree

Since  2008, Lithonia First United Methodist Church has reached out to the families who frequent their Food Pantry Ministry with an Angel Tree.  This small church with an average attendance of 70 people in worship brought smiles to the faces of 76 angels this year.  This annual event has grown in need, but also with the participation of non-church members -- families hosting a Happy Birthday, Jesus party with children who bring candy and goodies to fill gift bags for our angels, and orgaizations from local high schools providing clothing or toys for these children in need.  The "small church with the red doors" has long been a beacon of hope to the community, and God's prescence has never been felt more than this Christmas season with the love and giving of this church and community.
