The Spirit Is Moving

Life at Crimora UMC has been interesting over these last few years.  We've been and are being transformed as we serve the world around us through the "Not By Bread Alone" food pantry.  A small church CAN make a difference!  We are feeding upwards to about 180 families a week!  That equates to just under 1000 persons being fed!  That is some 16 times more people than in our average worship attendance . . . for a small but mighty congregation . . . is HUGE!  Our "B.L.E.S.S. The Children" program, which stands for B.reakfast and L.unch E.very S.aturday and S.unday is our version of the backpack program, guaranteeing 130 children on the free breakfast and lunch program at our local elementary school are guaranteed to have the same on the weekend.  Both programs were begun by our members, but something awesome happened.  Folks from all over the community, from other denominations and walks of life, have "caught" the spirit and are participating in both programs.  They are 100% fully funded by outside sources and have been from their inception 4 years ago!  That's thousands of dollars in donations pouring in from civic organizations, private donations and hearts that are strangly warmed by these ministries.  For the members of Crimora UMC, it has given us the infusion we needed to see that indeed small churches can make a difference, when and if, they can be innovative and willing!  What a joy to see lives touched!!
