Rev. Long's Memorial Service

We fixed a lunch after morning worship, a powerful message on prayer by our own Jeanie.  Eleanor continued to do the bulletins.  Long's relatives & friends & Rev. Wetherall, our DS, all came to be with Rev. Long's family for his Memorial Service.

The church was full for The service.  Rev. Weatherall preached & he said that Don wrote his own Eulogy.  He lived his faith & when he stopped breathing here he was immediately in the presence of God, so the story continues.  He was our Pastor for just short of 15 years!  So faithful, such easy-to-understand sharing of the Gospel, such visiting the sick & bereaved.

Afterward, Rev. Weatherall met with us & said he's our Pastor now, it's in the rules.  He lives in Galesburg, 55 min away & sooner when he hurries.  We have people who can preach, but he said he will try & find somebody & by Conference at the latest.  

We all felt very close to our Savior; so strange not to Have Rev. Long.
