As Windcrest UMC pursues the enactment of HCI-prompted strategies, we did a new thing!
Our first ever Pentecost Multi-Cultural Fiesta was held between 4-8 pm on the church grounds and was visible to Walzem Road traffic. We had face painting, games for children, a big bounce house and a fire truck. We had between 10-15 first-time guest families register to win a Kindle Fire. A HUGE POTLUCK featured cuisines from people's ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Special guests included the 35-40 member traveling choir from Northern Ohio University (Methodist related) who closed out our event with an evening concert. During the mealtime, we had a Mariachi group play for an hour's worth of South Texas flavorful entertainment. A Scottish bagpiper also graced our community meal. Special invitees included families from the Windcrest Day School and Child Development Center and the Northeast Independent School District's English as a Second Language classes, both hosted in our facility.
