meditating on scripture

Our congregation is meditating on scripture, and delighting in it.  During Lent we focused on a Verse of the Week, many of us memorizing it.  Having the scripture close at hand has helped us pray more, be comfortable praying in public,  have hope in difficult times, and share our faith with others.  During these summer months, we are focusing on the psalms wtih a psalm  that is our prayer for the month.  This morning, a member with serious memory issues was being readied for surgery when she said to her pastor.  "I love Psalm 130 (our psalm for June).  And I remember Psalm 8 from last month.   What a comfort they are."
