Encourage our children, encourage! encourage! encourage!

I want to share what 1 little 4 year old is doing  in our congregation.  She felt a call in her heart about a year ago to plan a fundraiser for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.  She saw a commercial on TV and it touched her heart.  this year she is hosting a 4th of July Picnic at her grandparent's home and has invited everyone from church to attend and bring donations to her mission.

her goal is $700.00 for this event.  It doesn't seem huge in the overall scheme of things, but this is her contribution for now and I believe it will grow bigger than what she thinks it will.

Lesson #1 - encourage your children to see all the good that they can do.  every little bit helps.  Even doing a little, is still DOING! and everyone has a part to play in God's kingdom.  Children and adults!

So I praise God for what God is showing us  in this congregation.  I also praise God that this sense of love and mission has been fostered in the life of this little one through the church and her family.  

Lesson #2 - Church can teach a lot, but it also take the fostering of a Christian life by Spiritual parents and family at home.
