LIFE was an ADVENTURE at South Whitley UMC's VBS Camp Adventure

The Education &  VBS Committees, stepped out of the norm for South Whitley UMC's 2013 VBS program.  Instead of using one of the "Designed" VBS curriculums, they choose to create VBS "Camp Adventure".  Camp Adventure offered campers 7 different camp adventures to choose from: karate, dance, basketball, crocheting, soccer, cooking, and arts & crafts.  Camp Adventure took place in the evenings for 3 days (Mon-Wed), followed by a Family Fun Fest on Thrusday, that boasted a hog roast, games and a fireman hose "Sprinkler"

On Thursday, there were nearly 200 people from the community & the church that came out to eat and have fellowship with each other in volleyball, basketball, corn hole, and running through the fireman's “sprinkler”.   A free will offering was taken with all proceeds going to the local fire department.

At VBS Camp Adventure, 81 children learned that they were fearfully and wonderfully made by God, that they could do all things through Christ who gives them strength, and that God loves them and His love endures forever!  Over 25 kids came forward to receive Jesus for the first time!

There were 61 amazing volunteers and helpers who made the week a success!  As well as, many others who donated food items, money, and most importantly they covered this event with prayers!
