We don't have frequent Altar Calls, but considering the number of persons going through difficult circumstances in our congregation, we did this past Sunday. It was powerful to see the number of folks being prayed for and the healing taking place.

Extending the altar rail is also a very important part of the worship experience, not just during the Eucharist. As a pastor I fear United Methodists have forgotten we have to step out and meet Jesus as he opens his nail-scarred hands for our healing. Continue the altar calls as we all, pastors and laity, need to be on our knees much more than we are! Woolwine UMC Danville District Virginia Annual Conference
