Music for the Mission

On Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2013, Fort Hill UMC had the pleasure of hosting a musical event entitled "Music for the Mission."  Churches of all denominations were invited to participate in this musical event.  A love offering was received which went to Park View Community Mission, a local UMC outpost that serves a hot meal on Wednesday evenings for the homeless or less fortunate.  This mission facility also distributes boxes of food to the needy with the help of the local Food Bank and donations from the local grocery stores.  In order to keep its doors open for the next month or so, $5,000 was needed, which prompted the music event. A total of $5,074 was collected for the Park View Mission.  Approximately 338 people of all faiths were in attendance.  We believe that God's hand was in control of this event and His presence was evident.
