Mona's Store Children's Outreach Christmas Shop

2nd Annual Mona's Store for our neighborhood elementary after-school program children was hosted on Thursday, December 18. Our congregation spends the months of November and December donating gifts valued at $5 or less for these children, who most come from low-income families, so they may Christmas shop for their entire family! Then, just before Christmas break the children come to the church and volunteers from our congregation and local YMCA help them find just the right gifts, wrap them, and take them home to celebrate Christmas. Then the left-over gifts are given to a local organization that serves children that are in-need, this year it went to a foster care agency that utilizes our church for supervised visits. The store was nameless last year, although it's purpose was secure, but now is called Mona's Store in memory of a church member who fell in love with this outreach and had served these children at their school but passed in 2013!
