Ash Wednesday

We had the greatest number of people the pastor can recall at Ash Wednesday: 26 out of a regular Sunday attendance of about 35. It was not a planned moment, but at the close of the service Pastor Buzz shared that we had been provided preliminary drawings from the architect that show a vision for expanding the facility to serve not only our own community, but the growing homeless ministry of Family Promise of Blount County, as well as any use the Maryville District might have. Pastor Buzz encouraged all to include during their time of prayer during this 40 days of Lent prayers for discernment as to whether this endeavor is God’s plan. Is this part of the mission of God -- the missio Dei -- for Green Meadow and Family Promise? Many commented that it was a powerful worship experience.
