4th of July Service and Lunch

The Hardtner, KS UMC hosted a 4th of July celebration service for the community.  About 75 people attended the service and heard Bill Smith testify to how God was with him throughout his service in the US Navy.  He recounted the story of a childhood neighbor bringing him to church for the first time and the Bible she gave him that he carried with him into the military.  This 80 year old man spoke from the heart and people were moved by his experience and his great faith.

After the service the church provided sandwiches, salads, desserts and drinks to everyone who came.  This is evidence of the Spirit still at work in this very tiny congregation, continuing to serve the community.
